“People are dying everyday yet coffin business is slow” — Coffin sellers laments over disappointing sales [R..18]

According to the report, local manufacturers are not happy that sales have dipped drastically and it’s worsened their financial standing.

The Ghanaian Association of Coffin Makers is urging the government to stop the importation of coffins as they bemoan the low sales they have been hit with for some time now.

In light of this, the Association Secretary, Effah Poku has highlighted their plight in an interview with Kasapa News in a recent interview.

“We want the government to levy a high import tax on coffins imported from China and elsewhere.” Our market is being flooded with made-in-China coffins, which is ruining it. We used to be able to sell 5-10 items per month, but that has changed. “Selling three coffins in a month is now impossible,” he told Kasapa FM’s Akwasi Nsiah.
